Advanced Wound Healing Center at Jackson Purchase Medical Center Recognized for Clinical Excellence in Patient Satisfaction and Wound Healing Rates

Jackson Purchase Medical Center physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered to recognize the Advanced Wound Healing Center, a recipient of the Center of Distinction award by Healogics®, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate higher than 92 percent.

“I am very proud of the accomplishments of our wound care center team,” said Dr. Christopher Dobrose, medical director for the center. “This is the fifth year in a row that we have received this recognition, and I think that is an indicator that we are consistently providing high quality care in the center. Also, the fact that this award is not only a recognition of objective measurements, such as wound healing rates, but also a reflection of patient satisfaction measurements means that the patients feel they are getting high quality compassionate care, which is where we focus our attention on a day-to-day basis.”

The Advanced Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 Wound Care Centers®  and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.

Advanced wound care modalities provided by our wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
